Medical air
Can medical air be used for autoclaves and other building equipment?
Short answer
No: hospital standards prohibit using medical air for industrial purposes, so autoclaves, drying, valve actuation and other pneumatic equipment need a separate compressed air supply.
Ultra Controlo builds that supply as ACIH, industrial hospital compressed air systems with Gardner Denver rotary screw compressors, air treatment and an oil/water separator for the condensate. ACIH follows the Machinery Directive and the Portuguese ACSS ET 08/2010 specification, and can be built with oil-free compressors on request.
