Vacuum and AGSS
Is AGSS the same as medical vacuum?
Short answer
No: medical vacuum provides clinical suction at a stronger vacuum, while an AGSS removes anaesthetic gases at a much lower suction level, and its disposal system has its own standard, EN ISO 7396-2.
That standard also covers avoiding cross-connections between scavenging systems and medical gas or vacuum pipelines. In the Ultra Controlo range, ULTRAVAC works at a normal vacuum of −0.85 bar and ULTRASEG at a suction level of −0.2 bar.
