Vacuum and AGSS
What does AGSS stand for?
Short answer
AGSS stands for anaesthetic gas scavenging system: the system that captures waste anaesthetic gases from the patient’s breathing circuit and removes them from the operating room, protecting staff from long-term exposure.
Its disposal system is covered by EN ISO 7396-2. The Ultra Controlo AGSS is ULTRASEG, an active system with Elmo Rietschle side channel pumps of 50 to 315 m³/h each (datasheet table) at a suction level of −0.2 bar, in the duplex version one pump runs while the other stands by, with terminal units whose adjustable orifice suits high-flow and low-flow systems.
