As-built drawings

As-built drawings record an installation as it was actually built; WHO's technical specifications for oxygen generator plants (December 2024) list as-built drawings, provided after installation, among the plant documents, and UNDP's REQ-OXY-001 (2025) asks suppliers to submit them for formal sign-off.

UNDP's REQ-OXY-001 (effective 1 January 2025) puts as-built drawings, with testing results, training reports, manuals and SOPs, among what the supplier submits to obtain formal sign-off before the PSA plant is handed over for clinical use. The Global Fund checklist for oxygen plant asset handover (28 May 2025) lists infrastructure and electrical as-built drawings among the completed commissioning documents to be received in the agreed language. WHO's Foundations of medical oxygen systems (17 February 2023), discussing fire safety, says as-built drawings should also be produced for new facilities for future reference, for example for renovation or refurbishment.

For medical gas pipelines, NHS England's HTM 02-01 (2026) asks for as-fitted drawings: plan drawings overlaid on architectural layouts that show the supply systems, distribution pipework with pipe sizes, valves with their normal position, terminal units, alarms and the direction of flow, accurate to within 0.5 m. Form B6 records their verification, to ensure that the drawings accurately represent the installed pipeline system, and the Authorised Person (MGPS) is responsible for keeping all record drawings up to date.
